About
Started in Wicklow. Working everywhere golf is built.
Turfgrass was founded in Ireland in 1997. Twenty-nine years on, the same independent, technical approach now supports clients across 53 countries.
Our story
A local practice that became an international standard.
Turfgrass began as an agronomy practice based in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Almost three decades later, the business has grown into an international consultancy working across Ireland, the Middle East, the USA and beyond — with project experience spanning 53 countries and five continents.
What hasn’t changed is the approach: independent, technically grounded advice, carried by a team willing to stay involved for the full life of a course rather than a single stage of it. That is still true whether the project is a members’ club in Ireland or a championship venue preparing for the world’s biggest stage.
The team now includes specialists based in the US, brought in with input from figures such as Brad Owen, formerly Senior Director of Agronomy at Augusta National Golf Club — reflecting a business built to operate at the same standard wherever the next course happens to be.
